Hours: Three days a week, 20 hours a week term time only (8:15am-4:15pm Monday & Friday, 11:00am-4:00pm Thursday)
Salary: Grade B–C depending on experience, equates to £10,782-£11,598 pro rata (FTE £22,737-£24,140)
Job/Person Summary
We are looking for a friendly, capable Admin Assistant who will support pupils, parents and staff in our busy school office. Ideally, we are looking to recruit someone who has experience working in a school office. This job is varied and you will need good time management skills, as you will be required to multi-task to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and on time. You will need a good sense of humour, to be a team player and to have an ability to cope under pressure in working with lots of people who all need your time. Confidentiality is paramount.
Your role will involve using Arbor to complete attendance and administrative requirements within the expectations of Hampshire County Council and the Department for Education. You will be working alongside another part-time Admin Assistant and managed by our capable and experienced Finance Officer.
Duties will include:
- Providing a friendly reception for all visitors and members of our school community
- Answering general enquiries on the phone, in person and by email
- Using IT to support the office needs
- Maintaining our school website
- General administrative duties as directed by the Finance Officer and Headteacher
The successful applicant will:
- Have strength in their communication and interpersonal skills to be able to interact with a wide range of people both in person, on the telephone and by email
- Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills in order to complete all the office tasks
- Be confident in using technology in the workplace; willing to learn how to use IT packages such as Arbor, MS Office, Scopay, T2P and website
- Be child centred and deal effectively with any first aid needs (training provided)
- Be confidential, positive and professional
- Be honest, reliable, well organised and a good time keeper
- Remain flexible and composed under pressure in a fast-paced school environment
