this week at Bentley.....
We have all been enjoying our non-school uniform today in exchange for a donation towards the Christmas Fair raffle. There have been so many lovely donations that the prizes are going to be fantastic – thank you.
It is certainly beginning to feel very festive in school with the preparations starting for all things Christmassy! Here is a reminder of what’s coming up in the next few weeks.
Christmas Fair 1st December, 3 – 5 p.m.
The Choir will open our Christmas Fair at 3 p.m. on Friday and will perform just outside the Sports Hall. Their performance will be a very festive way to start proceedings. The Fair starts at 3 p.m. Children in Year 1 and 2 can be collected from the back playground and Year R from their playground gate, at 2.55 p.m. so that they can then enjoy the fun of the Fair whilst it’s still a little quieter. Any child not collected at this time will wait with their teacher and be dismissed as normal at 3.15 p.m. unless they are going to afterschool club.
Years 3, 4 and 5 will be dismissed as usual at 3.15 p.m. Year 6 will be running stalls and performing their ‘elf’ duties, so look out for further communication from Mrs Blake about this. There will be lots to enjoy at the Fair, from games to food, so make sure you come along and join in with the fun too!
Year 1 and 2 Christmas Production – The Donkey Seller
Year 1 and 2 will be performing ‘The Donkey Seller’ on Tuesday 5th December at 2 p.m. and Wednesday 6th December at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now on Scopay.
Year 3, 4 and 5 Christmas Production – No One Wraps Like an Elf
Year 3, 4 and 5 will be performing ‘No One Wraps Like an Elf’ on Wednesday 13th December and Thursday 14th December at 6.30 p.m. Tickets go on sale on Scopay on Tuesday 28th November at 8 p.m.
Christmas Lunch and Christmas Jumper Day
This year we will be wearing our Christmas jumpers to school and eating a tasty Christmas dinner on Thursday 14th December. Lunches can be ordered in the normal way on the day and will be roast turkey and a cocktail sausage, or vegetable wellington (both with all the trimmings) and followed by a festive iced biscuit.
St. Mary’s Church Service
Year 6 and Year R will lead our church service at St Mary’s Church, Bentley on Friday 15th December at 11 a.m. Due to space in the church, only parents of children in Year 6, Year R and the Choir are invited to the service. At the end of the service, these children will be dismissed from the church (along with their siblings). All other children will return to school to be collected at 12.30 p.m. when school will close for the Christmas holidays. The bus will still run on this day, leaving school at 12.30 p.m. There will be no after-school club.
Children return to school in the New Year on Wednesday 3rd January 2024!
